['ingəmelz], Rex, australischer Schriftsteller, * Ororoo 19. 1. 1913, ✝ Dimboola (Victoria) 31. 12. 1955; verfolgte bereits in seinem ersten Gedichtband »Gumtops« (1935) das Ziel, die australische Lyrik zu einer direkten, unverfälschten Reaktion auf die einheimischen Naturgegebenheiten zu machen; verfasste 1938 das Manifest »Conditional culture« und begründete die Jindyworobak-Bewegung.
 
Weitere Werke: Lyrik: Forgotten people (1936); Sun-freedom (1938); Memory of hills (1940); At a boundary (1941); Content are the quiet ranges (1943); The great South Land (1951).
